A Family Winery Since 2010

Three generations of one family’s table

It began in 2010, when Drs. David and Patricia Sokol planted vines among Ocala’s horse farms and named the winery for their daughter, Katya. The falcon on every bottle is the family’s own mark — sokol is Slavic for falcon.

Today the house is run by Katya and her husband, Executive Chef Tony Deras — decorated four times at Best of the Best of Ocala in his first year — who keep the family craft of hand-made Florida wine alive on the historic downtown square.

The Rare Things

The rarest steak on earth lives in Ocala

Katya Vineyards serves certified Japanese A5 Olive Wagyu — from a micro-farm herd of roughly 1,700 animals raised on toasted olives by the Seto Inland Sea — flown directly from Japan to our kitchen. Alongside it: a caviar service of Beluga, Osetra, and Hackleback sturgeon with traditional accompaniments.

Florida grapes, hand-crafted wines

Our Blanc du Bois and Lenoir vines are hybrids bred for this sub-tropical climate, rooted in limestone above the ancient aquifer that made Ocala famous. From them we craft the whites, reds, and blends that earned Katya Vineyards the 2021 Florida Winery of the Year.
